Our Programs
Transitional Housing Corporation (THC) has a variety of housing programs - Transitional, Permanent Supportive, and soon to be Affordable, housing for homeless and at-risk families living in the District of Columbia. In addition, THC provides an array of wrap-around services for adults, families and children. Please visit the links on this page to learn more about a specific program.
Program Success
Since 1993, over 200 families have participated in THC’s programs and our most consistent program result is the ability to transition residents to permanent housing - on average 85% of THC participant families do so within a 2-year program (compared to DC’s citywide average of 42%). Thirteen families have become homeowners with many more working toward that goal. Last year, 80% of our families were employed by the time they completed the program and 60% were no longer dependent on supplemental income; 50% had increased their income; and 90% of last year’s graduates remained in permanent housing for at least one year. THC’s results are consistently 30-40% better than the citywide average for HUD funded housing programs.
